Barossa Go Kart Club – Nuriootpa – 12/8/2017
As you’d all know, we’ve had a busy last month, and managed to squeeze in quite a few races. We’ve finally had a chance to slow down, so rather than the usual sterile ‘press release’ update we usually get, we’ve managed to track down the notes from Jimmy’s mechanic for this race. We’d thought we’d share them to provide some insight into race day as part of ‘Jimmy Piszcyk Racing’.
Barossa Cadet/Junior Challenge – Race notes
A good start – driver’s briefing at midday instead of 7:30am. At least we don’t have to get up at super early this time.
Standard setup for practice. Kart has been good lately, so shouldn’t have to change much. Debrief driver after practice – unhappy with kart. Problems with front-end, back-end, and engine. Probably unhappy about lunch as well…

Heat 1 – Win for Jim. Debrief driver – apparently kart is OK now.
Heat 2 – Win for Jim. Debrief driver – Kart OK, no changes requested.
Heat 3 – Win for Jim. Debrief driver – “Please don’t change anything dad.”
Heat 4 – Win for Jim. Debrief driver – “Dad, if you touch the kart, so help me, I will end you.”

Final – Win for Jim. Debrief driver – *driver missing* – Probably gone off to play with his mates.

Jim would like to thank Iocane, WIFA Racing, EvoKart Australia, Haak Engines, and his mum and sister for all their support. Thanks also to all the officials and volunteers who worked out in the rain, without whom Jim couldn’t race.
Christine was well behaved – So nothing to report on that front. The current score:
JP -> 3 (Survived 2 weeks without hurting himself, use of Angle Grinder Persuasion, Ancient Spirit Mumbo Jumbo)
Christine -> 8 (Burn by exhaust, Degreasing of the eye, Magical Goggle Piercing Metal bit, Special Combo, Epidermal Peel, Degrease, Rinse, Repeat, 98 Octane Eye Wash, Inappropriate Tool Grabbing).
