Southern Go Kart Club – Bolivar  – 28/6/2015

Title time!

The City of Adelaide Titles is a 2 day event held at the Southern Go Kart Club at Bolivar in SA.  The format for the race meet is qualifying, followed by 2 heats, a pre-final and final.  The finishing position in the final dictates your result for the race meeting.

Qualifying comes with the reward of a separate trophy for this event, so it was hotly contested.  Jimmy did an excellent job by claiming pole ahead some other very quick competitors.

In heat 1, Jimmy fell back to second at the start, and pressured Christian for the entire heat, but couldn’t find a way past.  This was repeated again in heat 2, with Jimmy once again coming close, but failing to get past.

The pre-final was run on the Sunday, and Jimmy started out of second due to his previous finishes.  He managed to get into first at the start, but was overtaken a lap later and finished the heat in second.

The final was an exciting race, with 3 competitors breaking away from the main group and fighting it out at the front.  With 2 corners to go in the race, Jimmy set up an amazing pass, but unfortunately the other competitor didn’t see him and contact was made.  Jessica managed to get pass from third, and went on to take the win.  Jimmy finished in 3rd.

Jimmy would like to thank and congratulate his CRG team mates.  Aaron Oliver finished in 3rd in Cadet 12, and Kelvin Kirk who finished in 4th in Cadet 9.  Jimmy managed to win the Qualifying trophy, and finished 3rd for the event.

Jim would like to thank Iocane for their support, Josh Tynan for his advice, Steve Oliver for the kart setup advice, his mum for all her support (and of course the snacks) and all the officials and volunteers who helped make the race meet a possibility.
