Dublin Go Kart Club – Monarto  – 13\/9\/2015<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Fun in the sun at Monarto!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The weather turned out to be great for Round 3 of the Festival State Cup at Monarto.  Time for the drivers to battle it out for points in the 5 round series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jimmy did well in qualifying, recording the fastest lap and landing on pole.  Congratulations have to go out to his team mate Kelvin Kirk who managed to earn second place on the grid, just a tenth behind Jimmy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first heat continued Jimmy’s tradition of awful starts (yes, we are working on it), and he managed to drop back to 4th on the first lap.  He worked hard throughout the race and managed to get back into second, finishing less than 2 tenths behind Christian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jim started out of pole in the second heat, and managed to get a better start this time.  Kelvin got a better one though, and was in 1st after the first lap.  This heat produced some of the best racing we have seen all year, with Jimmy, Kelvin and Christian battling it out throughout the race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lead changed a number of times before Christian managed to pip Jimmy by 4 hundredths of a second, with Kelvin in 3rd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the third heat, Jimmy started from 2nd, and the advice and training from Josh Tynan helped out.  Jimmy managed to get into 1st, and held onto the position to win the heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on the points earned throughout the event, Jimmy took the win for the race meet, and a swag of valuable points in the Festival state Cup series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
