The final round of the State Champs!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s been great fun, and even better racing over the 3 rounds of the state championships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was Jimmy’s second outing in his new CRG kart, and our first opportunity to try it out in dry race conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The kart performed really well, and Jimmy managed to qualify in second position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heat 1 was exciting, with Jessica putting an excellent move on Jimmy in the first corner to move into second place.  Jimmy fought hard, and managed to get back into second place and then chase down Christian, finishing 3 tenths behind him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heat 2 was fast, with Jimmy and Christian putting in some really quick times.  Jimmy managed to get past Christian on lap 9, and then hold on for the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heat 3 was contested on Sunday morning, and again, the pace was really quick.  Christian and Jimmy were never separated by more than 6 tenths of a second over the entire race distance, with Christian taking the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final was a 24 lap race.  Jimmy managed to get in front on lap 13, and held the lead until lap 21, when Christian managed to get back in front.  The gap between the 2 only getting over a second on the last lap as they navigated through traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jimmy would like to congratulate Christian Cowie on winning the State Championship overall, and would also like to thank and congratulate all the other drivers who competed in the championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jim would like to wish his sister a Happy 11th Birthday (on Saturday the 8th).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
