First race in the new CRG kart!
After a fair bit of testing, Jimmy decided it was time to race with the new CRG kart. His new team mates, Aaron Oliver and Kelvin Kirk were there, with Kelvin also racing for the first time in a CRG kart.

The young kids were the centre of attention for this meet, with the Cadets and Juniors competing in the feature races. This meant a day with 1 practice session, 1 qualifying session, and 4 heats to compete in.
Qualifying went well, with Jim earning pole position for the first 2 heats.

Heat 1 provided some excitement, with the rain arriving just before the start of the race. A quick change was necessary to get the wets on, and Jim went out and bought the kart home in first place.
Heat 2 provided an opportunity to race on a drying track. Jim took advantage of this and managed to post some quick times, including a time that bettered the existing lap record on his way to the win.
Both heats 3 and 4 were contested in the wet, and Jim managed to win both heats to take out a clean sweep for the day.

Congratulations to Aaron Oliver, who finished second in the Cadet 12s, and to Kelvin Kirk who finish 2nd in the Cadet 9s, in his first race in a CRG.
Thanks go out to Jim’s sponsor Iocane, and to Steve and Aaron Oliver for their help and advice. Jim would also like to thank his mum for all her support (and yummy snacks), all the competitors for some great racing, and all the officials and volunteers.
